MATCH REPORTS: 1 Day, 2 Games, 2 Wins for Shamrock Rovers

Shamrock Rovers continued their pre-season schedule with two friendlies at their SRFC Roadstone Academy complex in Kingswood today, defeating both Bray Wanderers and Cobh Ramblers, 4-0 & 1-0 respectively.

Match #1: Shamrock Rovers 4-0 Bray Wanderers

Rovers hosted First Division outfit Bray Wanderers in Roadstone this morning in the Hoops' second pre-season game of the year - after defeating Lucan United 4-0 in the same venue a week previous in the annual Molly O'Toole Memorial Cup.

Rovers ran out 4-0 victors in the end today, with Johnny Kenny, Naj Razi, and Cian Curtis (with a brace) all getting on the scoresheet. It was already Johnny Kenny's third goal for the Hoops in pre-season, as he prepares to make his league debut for Shamrock Rovers away to his former club Sligo next month.

For fans it was brilliant to see Naj Razi and Cian Curtis both net today for the first-team. Two extremely talented players, Rovers fans will be hearing both names a lot throughout 2023.

Our squad for this fixture consisted of first-teamers (who all started), before a selection of our U19s replacing the first-team midway through the second-half.

Rovers Starting XI: 1. Mannus; 38. Trialist, 4. Lopes, 31. Cruise; 8. Finn (C), 29. Byrne, 33. Poom, 11. Kavanagh; 28. Tetteh, 20. Gaffney, 24. Kenny.

Match #2: Shamrock Rovers 1-0 Cobh Ramblers

Another First-Division side in Cobh Ramblers were the visitors for Rovers second game of the day in the capital, as Stephen Bradley's side maintained their 100% record in pre-season this year, defeating Shane Keegans side by a goal-to-nil.

In what was a tightly-contested battle, it was Rovers who prevailed thanks to a second-half strike by our new Scotsman, Liam Burt - his first in his new green & white colours.

The squad for this game was made up of the other half of the first-team along with others from our U19 squad.

(This article will be updated once a starting-XI for this game is found).

Rovers welcome two more First-Division sides to the capital next Saturday (28th January), as Treaty United & Wexford FC travel up for pre-season friendlies. Kick-off against the Limerick side is at 11am that morning, whilst the game against Wexford gets underway that evening at 4pm.

Live updates for both games will be provided on our Twitter page @TipperaryHoops.
