MATCH PREVIEW: Bohemian FC vs Shamrock Rovers

Bohemian FC vs Shamrock Rovers

Friday, 22nd April 2022

SSE Airtricity League Premier Division

Dalymount Park

7:45pm Kick-off

Dalymount Park is the venue of the latest episode of the Dublin Derby between Keith Long's Bohemians & Stephen Bradley's Shamrock Rovers this Friday, as the home side look for revenge after the hoops edge the opening derby of the season in Tallaght thanks to Rory Gaffney's first-half effort.

Bohemians come into Friday's game off the back of an impressive 4-1 win away to Shelbourne on Monday night, a game which was played in front of a sold out Tolka Park. Keith Long's men are on a four-game unbeaten run in the league, and currently occupy sixth position in the Premier Division table.

Shamrock Rovers arrive to Dalymount on Friday on the back of two big home wins over the Easter weekend - defeating St. Patrick's Athletic & Dundalk 1-0 respectively. Stephen Bradley's men now sit just a sole point behind Derry City at the top of the Premier Division table, after the gap between the two sides began at 6 points before the Easter weekend double-header of games.

Friday's game in Dalymount will see the sold-out signs up once again, with the away end being full with Rovers fans for the first-time since the coronavirus pandemic began over two years ago. A 90th minute Aaron Greene winner got Rovers' season off to the perfect start that day in Dalymount, a game that was played in dreadful conditions and was pulled from being shown on RTÉ just two hours before kick-off due to the severity of the weather conditions.

Heading into the game, eight points separate the sides in the league table, A win is crucial for each side, with Bohs needing the three points to continue their progression up the table, whilst Rovers look to maintain the pressure on Derry City at the crest of the table.

Friday's match official team will consist of Neil Doyle (referee), Robert Clarke & Wayne McDonnell (assistants), and Sean Grant (fourth official).
